Are you living the life you are supposed to?

I was reading a great book from Eugene Ionesco, a French author. The book is called “Le Solitaire” and it’s about a man that retires and moves to a new city. He has always been lonely and in the entire book he describes his thoughts about everything that is around him. (I recommend you to read it).
At the beginning he is saying goodbye to the people he knows. When he sees his ex girlfriend he start wondering if he is living the life he is supposed to live. If he would have stay with her, what would have happened? He thinks that maybe he would be happier, or he wouldn’t feel lonely or he could even be dead by know, who knows?
I’ve been thinking about that for a while and it is quite obvious that every single aspect of our life can change based on our everyday decisions.
It makes you think, doesn’t it? Maybe the life you have now is not the one you are supposed to have, maybe you should be happier, or maybe you should be worst…
It is impossible to talk about this without thinking about destiny, faith and maybe wonder about the existence of a God. Regardless of your opinion on those matters, there is only one thing for sure… we would never know. (Maybe one day when our knowledge of quantum mechanics, the postulates of Einstein’s Special Relativity and the universe itself, improve dramatically in order to be able to travel back in time)
Meanwhile we are just left with something to think about, wondering if this life, the one we are living now, is actually the one we wanted. Hoping to use our reason, our feelings and all that we have available to make the best decision for our future.
